The Sonoma Wine Festival 2017 will be held on Labor Day weekend (September 1-3) with entertaining celebrations. On Friday night, attend The Food & Wine Winemaker Lunches, Dinners, & BBQs event at Porter Creek Vineyards, the official start to Wine Country Weekend 2017. Each of the meals is seasoned in the culinary traditions of Sonoma County elegance!
On Saturday and Sunday, delight in the signature Taste of Sonoma 2017 where you can sample rich vino from over 200 Sonoma County wineries and excellently prepared cuisine from local chefs. This year’s tasting will be at the Green Music Center at Sonoma State University.
On September 16, 2017, experience the Sonoma County Harvest Wine Auction. According to Wine Spectator, this annual event is “one of the top charitable wine auctions in the U.S.” This all-day affair allows you to attend a winemaker lunch series and winemaker dinner parties, as well as winery barbecues.
The Sonoma Wine Festival is the perfect place to indulge in the signature tastes and flavors of our scenic area! In recent years, some of our guests’ favorite foods included the Cabernet-spiced lamb sliders from Partake by Kendall-Jackson, fresh peach cake from Dry Creek Peach and Produce, and handmade spicy tuna rolls from Rohnert Park’s Hana Japanese Restaurant. After you fill your plate, order a glass of wine sourced from the Alexander, Dry Creek, Russian River, and Sonoma valleys. Once you have your meal, be sure to bring a towel and enjoy your time on the emerald green lawn.
Sonoma Wine Country Weekend is also the area’s largest charity event! Produced by the Sonoma County Vintners and the Sonoma Valley Vintners & Growers Foundation, all proceeds benefit local organizations. Since 1944, this annual festival has raised over $20 million for charities that benefit students, children, and farm workers in Sonoma County communities. Cheers to that!
After you experience the festivities at Sonoma Wine Country Weekend, make the scenic 10-mile drive through the rolling vineyards back to Honor Mansion! Our bed and breakfast offers a lovely afternoon wine hour that features a gorgeous selection of hors d’oeuvres and locally produced vino. From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel relaxed in the serene atmosphere and refreshed in the spa-like bathrooms.
