When you’re traveling the winding roads of Sonoma wine country, you won’t want to miss any Wine Road events. The Wine Road began forty years ago with a simple plan and nine wineries. It now boasts more than two hundred wineries in Northern Sonoma County, along with a robust event calendar. When you stay with us, consider spending a day on the Wine Road. It’s a great way to explore the area!
And for more information on Wine Road events and other local attractions, download our complimentary Vacation Guide. It’s the perfect tool to help you plan your ideal wine country vacation.
More than thirty of the Wine Road’s vineyards and tasting rooms are located in Healdsburg, CA, the same town as the Honor Mansion. (On the Wine Road map, zoom in on Healdsburg.) So, you can have a fantastic Wine Road experience without much traveling at all. But if you are going to venture further out, these excellent Wine Road events are always the right choice!
During the weekends of the Barrel Tasting, you have the opportunity to taste wines straight from the barrel before they are bottled! More than a hundred wineries participate. For wines that are limited in quantity, many people will purchase “futures” at the barrel tasting and return to the winery for bottled product, usually a year or more later.
The Winter WINEland event offers the chance to try limited production wines, new releases, or library wines. It begins with a winemaker breakfast Q&A. The wineries involved also provide a Vintage, Varietal or Vertical tasting, which is included in your ticket price.
Wineries that participate in the Wine & Food Affair will offer (you guessed it!) delicious pairings of food with their wines. Each winery will also make a recipe available online, so you can recreate the pairing experience at home!
Because Wine Road events happen frequently throughout the year, we recommend checking the event site for your travel dates. You’ll also want to download a Wine Road map! Designated drivers are offered a highly discounted rate. And if you’re interested in a Wine Road passport weekend, check out Passport to Dry Creek Valley. Events are for adults only; no children or pets, please! And, as always, please taste, sample, and drive responsibly. For tours and shuttle services, we highly recommend Steve at Silver Service Tours.
