The term “Sonoma” can be a bit confusing, as it actually refers to three different things; Sonoma County, Sonoma Valley and the town of Sonoma! To clarify: the Sonoma Wine Country actually spreads over four different winery valleys; the Sonoma Valley (where the town of Sonoma is located), the Alexander Valley, the Russian River Valley and the Dry Creek Valley. The later three valleys meet in Healdsburg, where the Honor Mansion is located. If you do also wish to visit the Sonoma Valley, it is about a 30-40 minute drive from the Mansion. Some of our guests also like to venture over to Napa while they visit us, and you can reach the Calistoga area (the Northern end of Napa Valley) in just about 30 minutes.
Between our three local valleys, there are at least 200 great wineries within a 10-15 minute drive from the Honor Mansion.
Healdsburg itself is a wonderful town. The downtown plaza is host to numerous amazing restuarants, featuring the best local ingredients. There are also numerous shops, tastings rooms, and galleries to enjoy on the plaza, be sure to take a look at the “Wine Country Activities” and “Wine Country Restaurants” pages below for more information. The Honor Mansion is less than a mile from the main plaza, and many of our guests make this easy walk into town.
Navigate the links below to see our favorite wineries in each of the valleys. Once you arrive, our staff would be happy to sit with you and map out some great wineries for you to visit, or feel free to call or e-mail if you would like us to make you any reservations or customize an itinerary for you!
For another great resource for the local wineries, visit the Wine Road! Here, you can search for wine varitals, local events, and you can also purchase a “Ticket to the Wine Road”, which waives tasting fees at many of the member wineries!
